Fatimah Ibrahim, a 40-year-old woman, and resident of Tashan Jama’are in Bauchi State, has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old boy employed to assist her with her business.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, it stated that the victim, an Arabic pupil identified as Abubakar Yakubu (name withheld for privacy), was housed at the suspect’s residence in Tashan Jama’are.
However , within a period of two months, the boy was subjected to repeated sexual abuse by the woman he trusted as a maternal figure.
Meanwhile, during a police interview, the young victim explained how the defendant engaged him in inappropriate acts, particularly when no other visitors were present.
He also disclosed being given a suspicious mixture containing lemon juice, which he believes may have been drugged before the assaults occurred.
“She would call me into her room when no one else was around,” the boy narrated.
“I didn’t understand what was happening at first, but I felt helpless. She gave me something to drink that made me feel dizzy.”
Following the report by a concerned citizen from Katagum Local Government Area, the police swiftly launched an investigation. During interrogation, Fatimah Ibrahim allegedly confessed to the crime.
CSP Wakil confirmed that the case is still under investigation.
“The suspect has admitted to her actions, and we are compiling all necessary evidence. Once the investigation is concluded, she will be profiled and arraigned in court,” he stated.
